Abstract

Indonesia has a high potential to develop into a maritime power because the ocean forms 70% of the total land area. Currently, 70% of world trade occurs in the Asia Pacific region. Around 75% of the population and trade commodities are transported through the Indonesian sea. In connection with this, to facilitate the movement or transportation of goods using ships, one of which is the MV. Lumoso Hawari. Distribution of goods by sea plays an important role in the supply chain. For this process to run smoothly, one of the crucial factors that must be considered is the condition and performance of the MV ship engine. Lumoso Hawari. Problems that often occur on the MV ship. Lumoso Hawari includes the generator. The generator on the ship's engine experiences a decrease in frequency due to damage to the crankpin bearing. Damage to the crankpin bearing is caused by the mixing of lubricating oil with water, unstable rpm, and the failure of the PMS (Plan Maintenance System). Maintenance is carried out according to the PMS to prevent damage to the crankpin bearing, cleaning and periodically checking the LO cooler and replacing the crankpin bearing to prevent more severe damage.
