Abstract

This study aims to determine how to handle marine pollution caused by ship operations and offshore oil well management. With the background of events that arise from ship operations, namely the collision of the Vox Maxima ship with the MT. Marine Honour tanker and also due to the leaking of oil pipes in offshore drilling in Kerawang and the Seribu Islands. From this background, the main problem that arises is how to handle marine pollution caused by ship operations and offshore oil well management and whether there is an economic impact that occurs due to water pollution for fishing communities. The method used in this writing is to use qualitative descriptive research, namely one that describes existing phenomena by clarifying the variables studied with literature sources. So, the handling of marine pollution due to ship operations and offshore oil well management with equipment such as oil booms, oil absorbents, oil dispersants, and burner systems. Related to the solution to the economic impact that arises is the role of the government in providing assistance and capital to fishing communities affected by pollution so that fish catches are reduced. Effective handling of marine pollution will not significantly impact the fishing communities' economy.
