Abstract

This study assessed the impact of maritime science, mental control, and seafaring skills development on seafaring cadets' performance. As a maritime country, Indonesia has great potential in the maritime sector, making seafaring education important in preparing cadets to face challenges at sea. The study results showed that maritime science, including navigation technology, ship management, and maritime safety, significantly improved cadets' readiness to face challenges at sea. Mental control involving mental training and coaching helps cadets manage stress and pressure, increasing effectiveness and efficiency in carrying out duties on board. Seafaring skills training, including advanced technology, safety management, and technical problem-solving, has improved cadets' ability to operate ships and manage safety. In conclusion, strengthening the maritime science curriculum, ongoing mental coaching programs, and practical and ongoing seafaring skills training are needed to improve the performance of seafaring cadets. Continuous evaluation and development of the curriculum and training programs are also needed to adapt to changes in technology and the needs of the dynamic maritime industry
