Ships are a vital means of transportation for Indonesia as an archipelagic country. It is important to know that ships have clear proof of ownership. Changing a ship's name at the Batam Special Harbormaster and Port Authority Office (KSOP) is important to guarantee the ownership and legality of the ship. This study aims to maximize the feasibility of the ship name change process and the efforts needed to maximize the results. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, literature studies, and documentation. The study results indicate that the ship name change process in Batam has been running well, but there are still obstacles in the completeness of the documents required by the ship's addressee or owner. This finding emphasizes the importance of ship owners' understanding of the applicable procedures and regulations to avoid errors in submission. The conclusion of this study recommends the need for further socialization and education regarding the ship name change process so that service users can understand and comply with existing provisions and the process can run more effectively and efficiently.
