Transparency in the port supply chain is a crucial element to improve efficiency and accountability, especially considering the vital role of ports in international trade. Transparency can promote sustainability, reduce operational costs, and strengthen stakeholder trust. Blockchain technology has great potential to support transparency by providing a secure and immutable record of transactions. However, ports in Indonesia still face challenges related to the lack of transparency and coordination. This study aims to analyze the potential of blockchain technology in overcoming these obstacles. Using a literature review method, data were collected from international journal articles and recent case studies in the last five years and evaluated based on the quality of the methodology and the validity of the results. The findings show that blockchain, initially known for its use in cryptocurrencies, can now be applied to smart contracts and real-time cargo management through integration with IoT. This technology improves port supply chain transparency, facilitates automated payments, reduces the risk of errors and fraud, and speeds up administrative processes. This study recommends the integration of blockchain with other technologies, such as IoT, to optimize cargo management and operational responsiveness. Using blockchain in Indonesian ports has excellent potential to improve business process efficiency and drive future innovation.
